2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Neer Garh Waterfall
    30 minutes (9.9 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your day early and head to the beautiful Neer Garh Waterfall. The drive is scenic, passing through lush green forests and hills. Once you reach the waterfall, take a dip in the cool water and enjoy the stunning views. You can also hike to the top of the waterfall for a breathtaking view. For lunch, stop by one of the food stalls nearby and try some local delicacies. In the afternoon, head to the Rajaji National Park for a jungle safari. Keep an eye out for Bengal tigers, leopards, and elephants. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony by the river Ganges and witness the beautiful ritual of worshiping the holy river.

  2. Day 2: Triveni Ghat
    10 minutes (3.4 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your day with a visit to the Triveni Ghat, a famous bathing ghat where three rivers meet. Take a dip in the holy water, and watch the locals perform their morning rituals. After breakfast, head to the Beatles Ashram, where the famous band once stayed and composed music. The ashram is now abandoned, but the colorful graffiti and murals add to its charm. For lunch, head to one of the many cafes in the area and try some delicious vegetarian food. In the afternoon, go for a white water rafting adventure in the river Ganges. The rapids range from grade 1 to grade 4, making it suitable for beginners and experienced rafters. In the evening, stroll along the Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge over the river Ganges. The bridge is lit up at night, offering a beautiful view of the river and the surrounding mountains.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, located at the top of a hill, offering a panoramic view of the city. You can also take a trip to Dehradun or Mussoorie, both of which are located a few hours away from Rishikesh.
