3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Ooty in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10 minutes (2.6 km) from Ooty Bus Station

    Start your day at Ooty Lake with a serene boat ride and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake surrounded by eucalyptus trees. After a refreshing boat ride, take a walk around the lake and explore the shops selling local handmade items. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Deer Park, where you can spot various species of deer and other animals. End your day at the Thread Garden, an exhibition of artificial flowers made from thread. The intricate artwork is a must-see!

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10 km) from Ooty Lake

    Start your day early and head to Doddabetta Peak, the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills. The panoramic view from the top is stunning, with misty clouds and tea plantations. On your way back, stop at the Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea in the region, and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea. In the evening, visit the Government Botanical Garden, which houses a variety of exotic plants, bonsai trees, and a fossil tree that is over 20 million years old!

  3. Day 3: Pykara Waterfalls
    1 hour (20 km) from Doddabetta Peak
