Family-Friendly Itinerary for South Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    20 minutes (9.5 km) from Madgaon Railway Station

    In the morning, head to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. Take a guided tour to learn about the history and architecture of the church. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Se Cathedral, a stunning Portuguese-style church with beautiful stained glass windows. In the evening, head to Colva Beach, just 20 minutes away. The beach is clean and has plenty of activities for children, such as horse riding and water sports.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    1 hour 15 minutes (58 km) from Colva Beach

    Start early for a visit to the majestic Dudhsagar Falls. The 4-tiered waterfall is one of the tallest in India and is surrounded by lush green forests. You can take a dip in the natural pool at the bottom of the falls. Afternoon visit to the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. Take a jeep safari to spot wildlife such as tigers, leopards, and elephants. In the evening, head to the nearby Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple, a 12th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

  3. Day 3: Anjuna Flea Market
    1 hour 20 minutes (56 km) from Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple

    Spend the morning at the Anjuna Flea Market, a shopper's paradise that sells everything from clothes to souvenirs. There are also food stalls serving Goan delicacies. In the afternoon, head to the Chapora Fort, a 16th-century fort that offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. End the day at Baga Beach, a lively beach with plenty of restaurants, bars, and water sports.
