Start your day at the Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. You can offer prayers and witness the aarti. Afternoon, take a trek of 1.5km to visit Bhairavnath temple. In the evening, go to Shankaracharya Samadhi and learn about the philosophy of Adi Shankaracharya.
Take a trek of 6km to Vasuki Tal. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake surrounded by mountains. Carry a packed lunch with you. Return back to Kedarnath by evening.
Visit Triyuginarayan Temple, the sacred place where Lord Shiva and Parvati tied the knot. Take a dip in the hot water spring. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire with snacks and dinner at your hotel.
Begin your day with a 14km trek to Gandhi Sarovar. Take a dip in the lake and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. Carry a packed lunch with you. Return back to Kedarnath by evening.
Explore the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, home to many rare and endangered species such as snow leopards, musk deer, and Himalayan tahr. Go for bird watching and enjoy the flora and fauna of the region. Afternoon, visit the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Samadhi. In the evening, enjoy a folk dance performance.
Visit Sonprayag, a holy place where two rivers Mandakini and Basuki meet. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the place and take a dip in the river. In the evening, visit the Guptkashi temple and offer prayers.
Visit Gaurikund, the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. Take a dip in the hot water spring and offer prayers at the Gauri Temple. Enjoy local food, shop for souvenirs and explore the city before leaving.
If you have more time, you can visit the Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, or go for a helicopter ride to get a bird's eye view of the region. You can also plan a side trip to Badrinath, one of the four Dhams of the Char Dham Yatra. To maximize your fun, carry comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and a first aid kit. Avoid travelling during monsoon season (July-August) as the region is prone to landslides, and some places may remain closed.
