To get around Porto we recommend walking, it’s an excellent way to see the city's beauty on your honeymoon. If you need to use public transport, the city has an excellent bus and metro network. A day pass costs around €6 and can be purchased at any metro station. However, we recommend using taxi services, especially when you are at the airport or moving with heavy luggage. The average cost for a taxi ride from Porto Airport to the city centre is around €20-25 and takes approximately 30 minutes.
If you have more time, consider visiting Porto wine cellars near Ribeira and take an interesting Port wine tasting tour. You can also spend more time exploring the beaches of Foz do Douro or the traditional neighbourhoods of Porto such as Miragaia, Rua das Flores or Vitória. On the other hand, if you have less time, we recommend combining Clerigos Tower and the nearby Palacio da Bolsa on day 2 as they are relatively close to each other.
Porto is served by Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) located 11 km north of the city centre. It’s a modern airport with good connections to major European cities. The airport is conveniently located close to the city centre and can be reached by the metro, bus or taxi. The average cost for a taxi ride from the airport to the city centre is €20-25 and takes approximately 30 minutes.
