In the morning, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple is located amidst the snow-capped Himalayan peaks and can be reached by trekking for about 16 km from Sonprayag. Afternoon is the perfect time for a leisurely walk in the surrounding forests. In the evening, attend the Rudra Abhishek Puja at the temple.
Start your day early and embark on a trek to Vasuki Tal, a serene high altitude lake located at a height of 4,135 m above sea level. The trek is moderately difficult and will take around 3 hours to reach the lake. Spend some time at the lake and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Return to Kedarnath by evening.
Today, head towards Triyuginarayan Temple, which is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati tied the knot. The temple is located in the beautiful village of Triyuginarayan, and the scenic drive from Kedarnath takes around 30 minutes. After visiting the temple, head towards Gaurikund, a popular pilgrimage site and the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. Take a dip in the natural hot water springs and relax amidst the stunning natural beauty.
If you have some extra time, you can visit the Guptkashi Temple, which is located at a distance of 47 km from Kedarnath. You can also take a helicopter ride to Kedarnath from Phata or Sersi, which will give you some breathtaking views of the Himalayas. For adventure enthusiasts, there are options for rafting and trekking in the nearby areas. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry warm clothing, comfortable shoes, and a camera to capture the stunning vistas.
