5-Day Chennai to Munnar Itinerary - August 2023

  1. Day 1: Chennai to Kodaikanal
    8 hours (340 miles) from Chennai

    Head to Kodaikanal, a serene hill station with serene lakes and breathtaking viewpoints. Start your morning with a visit to Kodaikanal Lake, where you can enjoy boating and horse riding. For the afternoon, head to the Coaker's Walk viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the lush green valleys. In the evening, visit the Bryant Park, a botanical garden with beautiful flowers and a glasshouse.

  2. Day 2: Kodaikanal to Munnar
    4 hours (90 miles) from Kodaikanal

    Start your day with a visit to Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars that offer an amazing view of the surrounding valleys. Afterward, head to the Green Valley Viewpoint for a stunning panoramic view of the valley. In the afternoon, visit the Tea Museum in Munnar to learn about the history of tea plantations in the region. In the evening, take a stroll around the beautiful tea gardens and enjoy the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Munnar - Eravikulam National Park
    1 hour (8.4 miles) from Munnar

    Visit Eravikulam National Park in the morning, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and a variety of endemic flora and fauna. In the afternoon, head to the Mattupetty Dam for a scenic view of the lake and nearby hills. Afterwards, visit the Kundala Lake and the Echo Point, where you can hear your voice echo back.

  4. Day 4: Munnar - Top Station

    Drive to Top Station, which is the highest point in Munnar and offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. En route, visit the beautiful Cheeyappara Waterfalls and the charming Valara Waterfalls. Once you arrive at Top Station, take a walk around the picturesque hills and tea plantations.

  5. Day 5: Munnar to Chennai
    9 hours (337 miles) from Munnar

    On your last day, head back to Chennai. En route, visit the beautiful Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of endangered species such as the Indian Star Tortoise and the Grizzled Giant Squirrel. Afterwards, visit the Thoovanam Waterfalls before continuing your journey back to Chennai.
