If you have extra time, consider taking a day trip to the nearby backwaters of Alappuzha, also known as the Venice of the East. You can take a boat ride and enjoy the scenic views of the backwaters. Another popular attraction is the Sivagiri Mutt, a pilgrimage site dedicated to the philosopher and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. Additionally, there are many Ayurvedic spas in Varkala where you can indulge in a rejuvenating massage or treatment.
