Exploring the Best of Kashmir in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Srinagar
    19 minutes (9.5 km) from Srinagar International Airport

    In the morning, visit the famous Dal Lake and take a shikara ride. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake with the Himalayas in the background. In the afternoon, visit the Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi Garden.   2. Day 2: Gulmarg

    Take a drive to Gulmarg, also known as the 'Meadow of Flowers'. Enjoy a cable car ride to Khilanmarg, which offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the beautiful pine forest and enjoy a picnic. In the evening, visit the Gulmarg Golf Course, the highest golf course in the world, and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

  3. Day 3: Pahalgam
    2 hours 31 minutes (90.5 km) from Srinagar

    Take a scenic drive to Pahalgam, also known as the 'Valley of Shepherds'. In the morning, visit the Aru Valley and enjoy a horse ride. In the afternoon, visit the Betaab Valley, named after the Bollywood movie 'Betaab', which was shot there. Enjoy a picnic by the Lidder River. In the evening, visit the Mamaleshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and enjoy the beautiful view of the Pahalgam Valley.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit Sonamarg, also known as the 'Meadow of Gold', for its beautiful glaciers and snow-capped mountains. You can also visit the Martand Sun Temple, a historic temple built during the 8th century. Another great side trip option is Yusmarg, a beautiful meadow surrounded by forests and snow-covered mountains.
