3-Day Nature Itinerary for Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (7.6 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day at Abbey Falls, a magnificent waterfall hidden in the lush greenery of Coorg. The morning mist and the sound of water cascading down the rocks is a breathtaking sight. Take a short trek through the coffee plantations to reach the falls. You can even take a dip in the cool waters but be careful as the rocks can be slippery. In the afternoon, visit the Madikeri Fort which houses a museum and a temple. End your day with a visit to Omkareshwara Temple, a beautiful blend of Islamic and Gothic-style architecture.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 15 minutes (40 km) from Madikeri

    Wake up early and head to Dubare Elephant Camp, a natural habitat for elephants. You can participate in various activities like elephant grooming, bathing and feeding. You can also take a coracle ride on the river Cauvery and spot some exotic birds. In the afternoon, visit the Tibetan Monastery, a peaceful and serene place with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. End your day with a visit to the Chiklihole Reservoir, a picturesque place with a beautiful sunset view.

  3. Day 3: Nagarhole National Park
    1 hour 45 minutes (72 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day early and drive to Nagarhole National Park, a perfect place for wildlife enthusiasts. Take a safari ride to spot tigers, leopards, deer, and elephants. The park is also home to over 270 species of birds. After the safari, visit the Iruppu Falls, a scenic waterfall located in the Brahmagiri mountain range. End your day with a visit to the Namdroling Monastery, a Buddhist monastery with intricate architecture and colorful murals.
