In the morning, head to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the summit takes around 3-4 hours, and you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. After lunch, take a dip in the nearby Soochipara Waterfalls, which cascades down from a height of 200 meters. In the evening, visit the Edakkal Caves, a series of prehistoric caves that are home to ancient petroglyphs and stone carvings.
Start your day by visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India. Take a speedboat ride on the reservoir and enjoy the serene surroundings. After lunch, visit the Kuruva Island, a protected river delta that is home to a dense forest, diverse range of flora and fauna, and several streams. In the evening, head to Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu that is set amidst the beautiful Brahmagiri Hills.
If you're looking for more adventure, you can try zip-lining and rock-climbing in the Soochipara Waterfalls area. You can also visit the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, home to elephants, tigers, leopards, and several species of birds and plants. For a side trip, you can visit the nearby city of Mysore, known for its majestic palaces and rich cultural heritage. Make sure to sample some of the local delicacies, such as bamboo rice, kadala curry, and appam. Lastly, don't forget to carry a good pair of trekking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen.
