Family Friendly 4-Day Itinerary for Rishikesh in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Lakshman Jhula
    Located 10 minutes (2.5 km) from Rishikesh Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the famous suspension bridge Lakshman Jhula, which is 450 feet long and offers a breathtaking view of the Ganges. You can also take a holy dip in the Ganges at Triveni Ghat, located just 3 km away. In the afternoon, explore the Beatles Ashram, now known as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, where the Beatles stayed in 1968 and wrote many of their famous songs.   2. Day 2: Neer Garh Waterfall
    Located 45 minutes (15 km) from Lakshman Jhula

    Take a morning trek to the Neer Garh Waterfall, located in the midst of a dense forest and cascading down from 25 feet. The trek is easy and takes around 30 minutes. You can swim in the cold water and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. In the afternoon, visit the Trimbakeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and located on the banks of the Ganges. In the evening, relax at the Beatles Cafe located near the Laxman Jhula bridge.

  3. Day 3: Rajaji National Park
    Located 1 hour and 30 minutes (35 km) from Neer Garh Waterfall

    Start early in the morning and head to Rajaji National Park, a wildlife reserve that is home to a variety of animals including elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. You can take a jungle safari in the morning and spot some of the animals in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, visit the Kaudiyala Beach, located on the banks of the Ganges and known for its pristine waters and sandy beach. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat.

  4. Day 4: Kunjapuri Temple
    Located 1 hour and 20 minutes (28 km) from Rajaji National Park

    Visit the Kunjapuri Temple in the morning, located on top of a hill with a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the Ganges. You can watch the sunrise and take a spiritual experience. In the afternoon, visit the Patna Waterfall, located near the temple and known for its beauty and serenity. In the evening, stroll on the Triveni Ghat and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere.

If you have more time in Rishikesh, you can consider visiting the Vashishta Gufa, located on the banks of the Ganges and known for its meditation and yoga courses.
