4-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary for Kedarnath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple

  2. Day 2: Gandhi Sarovar and Vasuki Tal

    Start your day by trekking to Gandhi Sarovar, a glacial lake named after Mahatma Gandhi. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayan ranges and the picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. After lunch, trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake located at 14,200 ft. above sea level. Spend some time here exploring the serene beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains. Return to Kedarnath by evening.

  3. Day 3: Bhairav Temple and Shankaracharya Samadhi

    In the morning, visit the Bhairav Temple located near the Kedarnath Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Bhairav, a fierce form of Lord Shiva. Afterward, visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi, the final resting place of Adi Shankaracharya, the great philosopher and theologian of India. Learn about his teachings and philosophy. In the evening, take a stroll in the nearby market and buy some souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Sonprayag and Gaurikund

    On your last day in Kedarnath, head to Sonprayag, a scenic hill station located at the confluence of Mandakini and Vasuki Ganga rivers. Enjoy the serene beauty of the place and take a dip in the holy waters of the rivers. Afterward, visit Gaurikund, a small town located on the banks of the Mandakini river. According to Hindu mythology, it is said that Goddess Parvati meditated here to win Lord Shiva's heart. Take a dip in the hot water springs and relax. Return to Kedarnath by evening.
