3-Day Yerevan Itinerary

  • Day 1: Erebuni Fortress

    Erebuni Fortress is an ancient fortified city located on top of a hill overlooking modern-day Yerevan. Guests can explore the ruins and learn about the city's history through an onsite museum.

  • Day 2: Matenadaran & Republic Square
    11 minutes (3 km) from Erebuni Fortress

    The Matenadaran is a museum and repository of ancient manuscripts, including the largest collection of Armenian texts in the world. After visiting the museum, head to Republic Square, the city's central square, to see the famous singing fountains and colourful buildings.

  • Day 3: Geghard Monastery & Garni Temple
    1 hour (40 km) from City Centre

    Geghard Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage site carved into a mountain that dates back to the 4th century. After visiting the monastery, head to the nearby Garni Temple, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia. The spectacular views of the surrounding mountains make the journey out of the city center well worth it.

Transportation

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Yerevan Cascade, a massive stairway adorned with modern and contemporary art. Also, don't miss the opportunity to try Armenian cuisine, like khorovats (barbeque) and dolma (stuffed vegetables). If you have less time, consider skipping Geghard Monastery and Garni Temple and instead exploring the city's numerous museums and galleries.

Airports

Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) is the main airport in Yerevan, located about 12 km west of the city center. It is a modern and well-equipped facility with numerous flights to destinations in Europe and Asia.
