Two-Day Itinerary for Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Triveni Ghat
10 minutes (3.2 km) from Rishikesh Bus Stand

Begin your day early with a dip in the holy river Ganga at Triveni Ghat. It is believed that taking a dip at the confluence of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati - can wash away all sins. After that, you can attend the morning aarti (worship) at the ghat to start your day on a spiritual note. In the afternoon, explore the nearby markets for some souvenirs and street food. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, which is a mesmerizing experience.

  2. Day 2: Neer Garh Waterfall
30 minutes (14.2 km) from Triveni Ghat

Start your day with a visit to the Neer Garh Waterfall, which is located in the midst of a dense forest. The waterfall cascades down from a height of 50 feet and is an ideal place for a picnic. You can also enjoy a short trek to the waterfall. In the afternoon, you can visit the Beatles Ashram, which is a popular attraction among music lovers. The ashram was used by the Beatles to practice transcendental meditation in the late 1960s. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride on the Ganges and witness the aarti ceremony at Triveni Ghat.

Recommendations

If you have more time, do visit the Rajaji National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife such as tigers, elephants, and leopards. You can also try rafting in the Ganges for a thrilling experience. Another popular attraction is the Lakshman Jhula, which is a suspension bridge over the Ganges and has mythological significance. If you want to indulge in some adventure activities, you can try bungee jumping or flying fox in Rishikesh. Do not forget to try the local delicacies such as aloo ke gutke, kachori, and kulhad chai.
