2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    30 minutes (9.3 km) from Kalpetta

    Start your day early and head to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. Hike through the lush green tea plantations and dense forests to reach the heart-shaped lake at the summit. The panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys are breathtaking. Don't forget to carry your own food and water as there are no shops or restaurants on the way. After descending, visit the nearby Soochipara Waterfalls for some refreshing swim in the cascading waters and a picnic lunch. In the evening, you can visit the Edakkal Caves, an archaeological marvel with prehistoric rock paintings dating back to 8000 BC.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam
    1 hour 20 minutes (40.5 km) from Kalpetta

    On day 2, head to Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India, surrounded by lush green hills and offering various adventure activities. You can try zip-lining, trekking, kayaking, and speed boating here. The views of the surrounding mountains and the dam's reservoir are breathtaking, and you can also enjoy a picnic lunch here. After that, visit the nearby Meenmutty Waterfalls, one of the best waterfalls in Wayanad. The cascading waterfalls from a height of 300 meters offer a perfect spot for a refreshing swim and some beautiful photo opportunities. Head back to your hotel in the evening and enjoy dinner with traditional Kerala cuisine.
