4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Coorg Wayanad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 40 minutes (40 miles) from Mysore Airport

    Start your day early with a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can interact with elephants in their natural habitat. Feed them, bathe them and go for a ride with them. In the afternoon, visit the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple. The monastery is one of the largest teaching centers of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. In the evening, head to Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden that offers stunning views of the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hours 30 minutes (85 miles) from Dubare Elephant Camp

    Start your day early and head to Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary, a part of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Take a Jeep safari inside the sanctuary to see elephants, tigers, leopards, bears and other animals. In the afternoon, visit the Edakkal Caves, a prehistoric site with ancient rock art. In the evening, visit the Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by forests.

  3. Day 3: Banasura Sagar Dam
    2 hours 20 minutes (60 miles) from Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary

    Start your day early and head to Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India. Take a speedboat ride in the reservoir and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding hills. In the afternoon, visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum, which showcases the tribal culture and heritage of Wayanad. In the evening, head to Lakkidi View Point, a popular viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the valley.

  4. Day 4: Brahmagiri Peak
    2 hours 30 minutes (65 miles) from Banasura Sagar Dam

    Start your day early and head to Brahmagiri Peak, a scenic mountain peak in the Brahmagiri range. Take a trek to the peak and enjoy the mesmerizing views of the surrounding hills and valleys. In the afternoon, visit the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
