Gokarna: A 3-Day Relaxation Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kudle Beach
10 minutes (2.5 km) from Gokarna

In the morning, head to Kudle Beach and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with a cup of chai and some breakfast. Spend the afternoon swimming in the clear waters of the Arabian Sea or sunbathing on the soft sand. As evening approaches, take a walk along the shore to catch a beautiful sunset and then enjoy a seafood dinner at one of the beachside restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Om Beach and Mahabaleshwara Temple
11 minutes (3.3 km) from Kudle Beach

Start your day by visiting the Mahabaleshwara Temple, a sacred place located on a hill overlooking the town. Take a tour of the temple before heading to Om Beach, a beautiful, crescent-shaped beach. Spend the afternoon swimming or just relaxing on the beach. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire on the beach with some friends or family while watching the stars.

  3. Day 3: Paradise Beach and Half Moon Beach
20 minutes (5.5 km) from Om Beach

On your last day, visit Paradise Beach, one of the most beautiful and untouched beaches in Gokarna. Take a leisurely stroll or hike through the forest to reach the beach. Spend the day enjoying the clear waters and white sand. In the afternoon, head to Half Moon Beach, a secluded beach that can only be accessed by foot or boat. Spend some time swimming, snorkeling, or just lounging on the beach.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Yana Caves, located about 50 km from Gokarna. These limestone rock formations are a popular attraction and offer a peaceful escape from the beach scene. Alternatively, you can take a day trip to Murdeshwar, a temple town located about 78 km from Gokarna. It's home to the second-tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world and offers amazing views of the Arabian Sea. To maximize your fun, try some of the local cuisine, such as the seafood thali or the traditional South Indian dosa. Don't forget to bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
