Connecting with Nature: 2-Day Itinerary in Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp
    30 minutes (12.4 miles) from Madikeri

    Morning: Spend time with elephants at the Dubare Elephant Camp, a forest camp on the banks of the river Cauvery. You can watch elephants being bathed and fed, and even take an elephant ride. Learn more about the life of elephants and their conservation at the on-site museum.

    Afternoon: Visit Abbey Falls, a scenic waterfall in the midst of coffee plantations. The falls are at their best during the monsoon season, so you're in luck! Take a short hike to get closer to the falls and admire the lush greenery and the misty atmosphere.

    Evening: Drive to Raja's Seat, a popular sunset viewpoint in Madikeri. Relax in the garden and enjoy the panoramic view of the town and the valley below. The musical fountain show is a great way to end the day.

  2. Day 2: Nagarhole National Park
    2 hours (47.3 miles) from Madikeri

    Morning: Head to Nagarhole National Park, a wildlife reserve that is home to tigers, elephants, leopards, and many other species. Take a jeep safari and explore the dense forests and grassy meadows. You might spot a herd of deer or a pack of wild dogs.

    Afternoon: Drive to the nearby Iruppu Falls, a majestic waterfall that is considered sacred by locals. Take a dip in the cool waters and relax in the peaceful surroundings. You can also hike up the hill to visit the ancient Rameshwara Temple.

    Evening: Return to Madikeri and visit the coffee estates that Coorg is famous for. Take a guided tour and learn about the process of coffee cultivation and processing. Sip on some freshly brewed coffee and take some back home as well.
