Ooty Bachelor Party Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Start your day with a boat ride at Ooty Lake. The serene atmosphere and picturesque views of the lake are an excellent way to kick-start your trip. After your boat ride, head over to the nearby Deer Park to get up close and personal with local wildlife. Take a break for lunch at any of the nearby restaurants serving traditional South Indian cuisine. Spend your evening at Thunder World, an indoor theme park with exciting rides and games.

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    40 minutes (10.1 km) from Ooty Lake

    Head over to Doddabetta Peak for a morning hike. The trail takes you through lush forests and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. After your hike, take a break at the nearby Tea Museum to see how tea is processed and sample some of the local blends. For lunch, head over to the popular Nahar Restaurant. Spend your evening at the Government Botanical Garden, which has a vast collection of exotic plants and flowers.

  3. Day 3: Avalanche Lake
    1 hour 15 minutes (25.8 km) from Doddabetta Peak

    Start your day with a scenic drive to Avalanche Lake. The lake offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and is an excellent spot for fishing and picnicking. After your picnic by the lake, head over to Emerald Lake for a relaxing swim. For lunch, stop by the popular Shinkow's Chinese Restaurant. Spend your evening at the Thread Garden, which has an impressive collection of flowers and plants made entirely from thread.

  4. Day 4: Pykara Waterfall
    40 minutes (20 km) from Avalanche Lake

    Start your day with a visit to the Pykara Waterfall. The waterfall is located in a scenic valley and is an excellent spot for swimming and picnicking. After your swim, head over to the nearby Pykara Lake for a relaxing boat ride. For lunch, stop by the popular Earl's Secret Restaurant. Spend your evening at the Tribal Museum, which has an extensive collection of artefacts and exhibits on the local tribes.

Recommendations

Consider taking a side trip to Coonoor, which is just 18 km away from Ooty. Coonoor has a vast collection of tea estates and is an excellent spot for trekking and birdwatching. Another side trip to consider is to the Mudumalai National Park, located about 50 km from Ooty. The park has a diverse collection of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, and leopards.

If you're looking to maximize your fun, consider renting a bike or a car to explore the surrounding areas. You can also go horseback riding at the Ooty Equestrian Club or try your hand at angling at any of the nearby fishing spots. Additionally, you can book a hot air balloon ride to see Ooty from a different perspective.
