Family-Friendly Rajasthan Adventure in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Jaipur
    30 minutes (7.2 miles) from Jaipur International Airport

    Begin your adventure in Jaipur, the Pink City and the capital of Rajasthan. Get a feel for the city by visiting the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal in the morning. In the afternoon, visit the Amer Fort which is located on a hilltop, giving you a stunning view of the city. In the evening, enjoy a light and sound show at Amer Fort.

  2. Day 2: Pushkar
    2 hours 15 minutes (87.7 miles) from Jaipur

    Drive to the holy city of Pushkar, home to the only Brahma temple in the world. Spend the morning exploring the colorful bazaars and the Pushkar Lake. In the afternoon, visit the Brahma temple and take a dip in the holy waters of Pushkar Lake. In the evening, enjoy a serene sunset over the lake.

  3. Day 3: Jodhpur
    4 hours (200 miles) from Pushkar

    Head to the Blue City of Jodhpur in the morning, home of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. Spend the morning exploring the fort and the museum inside it. In the afternoon, visit the Jaswant Thada, a white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Finish the day by watching the sunset from the top of the fort.

  4. Day 4: Udaipur

    Drive to the romantic city of Udaipur, known for its lakes and palaces. Spend the morning exploring the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola and visit the Jag Mandir Palace. Finish the day by watching the sunset over the lake.

  5. Day 5: Jaipur
    7 hours (395 miles) from Udaipur

    Head back to Jaipur in the morning and spend the day shopping for souvenirs in the city's bazaars. Visit the Albert Hall Museum in the afternoon and catch a Bollywood movie at the Raj Mandir Cinema in the evening.

Recommendations

Make sure to try the local cuisine, especially the dal bati churma and the kachori. If you have time, consider visiting the Ranthambore National Park for a chance to see tigers in the wild. Another side trip option is the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, a famous Sufi shrine located near Pushkar.
