3-Day Foodie Itinerary in Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Breakfast at The Sitting Elephant

    Start your day with delicious pancakes, waffles, and smoothie bowls at The Sitting Elephant. Their outdoor seating area provides a great view of the mountains and the Ganges. After breakfast, visit the Beatles Ashram, an abandoned ashram where the Beatles stayed in the late '60s. Don't miss the graffiti art on the walls and the meditation cells. In the evening, head to Little Buddha Cafe for a Tibetan and Japanese cuisine and a live music performance.

  2. Day 2: Lunch at Ramana's Organic Cafe
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Little Buddha Cafe

    Enjoy a healthy and organic lunch at Ramana's Organic Cafe. Their menu boasts of vegan, gluten-free, and Ayurvedic dishes. After lunch, take a dip in the Ganges at Laxman Jhula, a hanging bridge with mythological significance. You can also shop for souvenirs and clothing at the local market nearby. In the evening, head to 60's (Cafe Delmar) for a sunset view and Indian and Italian cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Dinner at The Sitting Elephant

    End your trip with a delicious dinner at The Sitting Elephant. Try their Indian thali or pizza while enjoying the serene view of the mountains and the Ganges. After dinner, attend the Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ceremony that takes place at Triveni Ghat every evening. The ceremony involves chanting, devotional songs, and lamps being floated on the Ganges.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, you can visit Neer Garh Waterfall for a trek and a refreshing dip. You can also attend a yoga or meditation session at one of the many ashrams in Rishikesh. For a side trip, you can visit Haridwar, a nearby city known for its ancient temples and the Har Ki Pauri ghat. To maximize your fun, try river rafting or bungee jumping. Finally, don't forget to try the local street food, especially the chaat and lassi.
