4-Day Nature Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    1 hour 30 minutes (28.6 miles) from Kalpetta

    Morning: Start your adventure by hiking to the top of Chembra Peak, one of the highest peaks in Wayanad. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the hills and take a break at the heart-shaped lake halfway up the mountain. Afternoon: After the hike, relax and have a picnic at the foothills of the peak. Evening: Head back to Kalpetta and explore the local markets and shops.

  2. Day 2: Edakkal Caves
    1 hour 5 minutes (21.3 miles) from Kalpetta

    Morning: Visit the Edakkal Caves, a prehistoric site with ancient petroglyphs and carvings. Learn about the history of the cave and the significance of the carvings. Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants. Evening: Take a walk around the nearby Ambukuthi Hills and enjoy the stunning views of the sunset.

Take a guided tour and learn about the sanctuary's conservation efforts. Afternoon: Have a relaxing picnic at the nearby Pookode Lake and enjoy the serene surroundings. Evening: Head back to Kalpetta and enjoy a traditional Kerala dinner at a local restaurant.
