Welcome to Greece! After settling into your hotel, relax with a walk through the picturesque Monastiraki neighbourhood in central Athens. Be sure to visit the Ancient Agora for a glimpse into Athens' rich past. End your night with a drink at a rooftop bar overlooking the Acropolis.
Escape to Hydra Island, where there are no cars or motorized vehicles, only donkeys and boats. Explore the charming town, lounge at a secluded cove, or take a leisurely hike to the Monastery of Profitis Ilias for panoramic island views.
Experience the cosmopolitan side of Greece on Mykonos Island. Relax on the beaches and witness the famous Mykonos sunset from Little Venice. At night, party at one of the island's legendary clubs.
Wake up in Santorini, where you'll find stunning views and charming towns. Relax on the beaches, explore the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, and indulge in fresh seafood and local wines. Watch the spectacular sunset over the caldera from the chic town of Oia.
Take a ferry to Crete Island, Greece's largest island. Relax on the stunning beaches of Elafonisi or Balos, explore the quaint town of Chania, and learn about Crete's rich history at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion.
Return to Athens for your flight home, but not before experiencing a rooftop yoga class with views of the Acropolis, or relaxing at the Thermal Springs of Vouliagmeni.
While ferries are the primary mode of transportation for island-hopping in Greece, domestic flights are also available between major cities. Expect to spend approximately 100 EUR for each domestic flight, and 100-150 EUR for each ferry. Ride-sharing, taxis, and public transportation are also readily available and vary in cost depending on the location.
If you have more time, consider a day trip to the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion from Athens for shorter travel times and to explore more Greek islands at a leisurely pace. If you have less time, consider cutting your island-hopping experience to three islands and spending the remaining days in Athens, or extend your trip by an additional three to four days, and plan for a road-trip around mainland Greece.
Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" (ATH) is the main airport serving Greece and is located approximately 20 km outside of Athens city centre.
