4-Day Foodie Itinerary for Kollukkumalai, Moring Jeep Ride with Sunrise, Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kollukkumalai Tea Estate
    1 hour 35 minutes (25.2 miles) from Munnar

    In the morning, we will drive to the Kollukkumalai Tea Estate, which is known for its spectacular view of the sunrise. We will start our day with a jeep ride to the top of the mountain, where we will watch the sunrise while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed tea. Afterward, we will take a tour of the tea factory, which will give us an insight into the tea-making process. In the afternoon, we will visit the nearby spice plantation, where we will learn about the different spices grown in the region. In the evening, we will return to our hotel in Munnar.

  2. Day 2: Mattupetty Dam and Dairy Farm
    35 minutes (9.7 miles) from Munnar

    In the morning, we will visit the Mattupetty Dam, an ideal location for a leisurely walk. The dam is surrounded by hills and forests, making it a picturesque spot for photography. After that, we will head to the Mattupetty Dairy Farm, where we can learn about the process of milk production. We can also taste some of the fresh dairy products made on the farm. In the afternoon, we will visit the local food markets in Munnar. We will get the opportunity to try some of the delicious local snacks, like puttu, appam, and thoran.   3. Day 3: Kolukkumalai Sunrise Trek
    1 hour 35 minutes (25.2 miles) from Munnar

    In the morning, we will trek to Kolukkumalai, one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats. The trek starts before dawn, and we will reach the summit just in time to watch the sunrise. The view from the top is breathtaking, and it is a perfect location for photography enthusiasts. After the trek, we will return to our hotel in Munnar for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Top Station, which is known for its panoramic view of the valley. In the evening, we will return to our hotel in Munnar.

  4. Day 4: Eravikulam National Park and Tea Tasting
    30 minutes (7.5 miles) from Munnar

    In the morning, we will visit the Eravikulam National Park, which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. We will go on a guided tour of the park, which will give us an opportunity to see these magnificent creatures up close. After the tour, we will head to the tea tasting room, where we will get the opportunity to taste some of the best teas produced in the region. In the afternoon, we will visit the local spice markets in Munnar, where we can purchase some of the finest spices. In the evening, we will return to our hotel in Munnar.
