3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Amritsar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Golden Temple
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Amritsar Junction Railway Station

    Start your day early with a visit to the stunning Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib. This iconic Sikh pilgrimage site is open 24 hours and is best visited in the morning when it's less crowded. Take a stroll around the serene Sarovar and listen to the soothing hymns by the temple musicians. After breakfast at the langar, head to the Jallianwala Bagh, located just a few minutes away on foot. Spend a couple of hours here learning about the tragic event that happened here and pay your respects at the Martyrs' Memorial.

  2. Day 2: Wagah Border and Gobindgarh Fort
    1 hour 15 minutes (30 km) from Golden Temple

    Get ready for a full day of adventure. Start your day by attending the grand Beating Retreat ceremony at the Wagah Border, where you'll witness the lowering of the flags ceremony between India and Pakistan. Afterward, visit the historic Gobindgarh Fort, which has recently been transformed into a cultural and entertainment hub. Take a tour of the fort, watch a 7D show on the history of Punjab, and enjoy some local cuisine at the bazaar inside.

  3. Day 3: Durgiana Temple and Partition Museum

    On your last day, visit the Durgiana Temple, also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. This beautiful Hindu temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is known for its intricate architecture and peaceful ambiance. Afterward, head to the Partition Museum, which is dedicated to the millions affected by the Partition of India in 1947.
