4-Day Adventure Itinerary for Sikkim in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gangtok
    33 minutes (16.5 km) from Pakyong Airport

    Start your adventure by exploring the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok. Visit the Enchey Monastery and Rumtek Monastery to get a glimpse of the rich culture and history of the region. Take a cable car ride to the highest point in Gangtok, Tashiling, for panoramic views of the city. Spend the evening at MG Marg, the main shopping and dining hub of Gangtok.

  2. Day 2: Yumthang Valley and Lachung
    4 hours (120 km) from Gangtok

    Start early for a scenic drive to Yumthang Valley, also known as the valley of flowers. Stop by the Seven Sister Waterfalls and Singhik viewpoint on the way. After exploring the valley, head to Lachung for an overnight stay. In the evening, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath to relax your muscles.

  3. Day 3: Gurudongmar Lake and Lachen
    2 hours 30 minutes (67 km) from Lachung

    Another early morning start for a trip to Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. The view of the lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains is breathtaking. After spending some time at the lake, head to Lachen for an overnight stay. In the evening, interact with the locals and learn about their way of life.

  4. Day 4: Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass
    5 hours (56 km) from Lachen

    Start early for a visit to Tsomgo Lake, a glacial lake located at an altitude of 12,313 ft. Next, head to Nathula Pass, a mountain pass on the Indo-China border. If the pass is closed, visit Baba Mandir instead. Return to Gangtok in the evening for some last-minute shopping and a farewell dinner.

Other local attractions worth checking out include the Pemayangtse Monastery, Khecheopalri Lake, and the Temi Tea Garden. For a side trip, consider visiting the nearby town of Namchi to see the Char Dham and Samdruptse statues. To maximize your fun, try paragliding, river rafting, and mountain biking.
