4-Day Itinerary for Nature Lovers in Varkala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Varkala Beach
    10 minutes (3.8 km) from Varkala Cliff

    In the morning, take a walk along the Varkala Beach, one of the best beaches in Kerala and a perfect place to watch the sunrise. The beach is known for its clean sand, clear water, and stunning views of the sea and the cliffs. Afternoon is a great time to get some sun, relax and try some fresh seafood at the beach shacks. In the evening, enjoy a beautiful sunset and take a dip in the sea.

  2. Day 2: Backwater Cruise in Kollam
    1 hour 30 minutes (45 km) from Varkala Beach

    Take a morning drive to Kollam and enjoy a tranquil backwater cruise through the Ashtamudi Lake. The lake is full of coconut groves, Chinese fishing nets, and traditional villages. The cruise will take you through narrow canals, lagoons, and waterways. In the afternoon, visit the Thangasseri Lighthouse and the Thirumullavaram Beach. In the evening, return back to Varkala.

  3. Day 3: Trek to Anjengo Fort and Lake
