4-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary for Kedarnath - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    7 minutes (0.6 km) from Kedarnath Helipad

    In the morning, visit the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the Chota Char Dham destinations. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be over 1000 years old.   2. Day 2: Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
    40 minutes (15 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    In the morning, enjoy a scenic ride through the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to endangered species like the Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, and Himalayan Black Bear.     In the morning, head to the Triyuginarayan Temple, which is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married. The temple architecture is unique, and the picturesque surroundings make it a must-visit destination. In the afternoon, head to Gaurikund, the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. Take a dip in the hot water springs here, which are believed to have medicinal properties. In the evening, relax and enjoy a hot cup of tea.

  4. Day 4: Sonprayag and Guptkashi
    1 hour 15 minutes (28 km) from Triyuginarayan Temple

    In the morning, ride to Sonprayag, which is the confluence of the Mandakini and Vasuki Ganga rivers. Take a dip in the holy waters and seek blessings. In the afternoon, head to Guptkashi, which is a beautiful town situated at an altitude of 1,319 meters. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be over 1200 years old. In the evening, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

If you have time, you can visit the Kedarnath town and explore the local markets. You can also visit the famous Tungnath Temple, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world. Another great side trip is to Rudraprayag, which is a beautiful town situated on the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. To maximize your fun, make sure to pack warm clothes, as the weather can get chilly. Also, make sure to carry enough cash, as ATMs may not be readily available in some areas.
