Kathmandu and Pokhara 5-Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Kathmandu
    Approximately 6 hours by bus from Pokhara
    Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Pashupatinath Temple.

    In the morning, visit the Swayambhunath Stupa or Monkey Temple, and bask in the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley.     Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square in the morning and marvel at its intricate art and architecture. In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square, home to a collection of temples, shrines, and palaces.

  3. Day 3: Pokhara
    Approximately 6 hours by bus from Kathmandu
    Visit Phewa Lake, World Peace Pagoda, and Davis Falls

    Take a scenic drive to Pokhara and visit Phewa Lake in the morning. Take a boat ride or try paragliding for a stunning view of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the World Peace Pagoda, a symbol of world peace and a popular viewpoint. End the day with a visit to Davis Falls, an underground waterfall that is sure to amaze you.

  4. Day 4: Sarangkot and Bindabasini Temple
    30 minutes (6 miles) from Pokhara
    Visit Sarangkot and Bindabasini Temple

    Wake up early to catch the sunrise at Sarangkot, a popular viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Annapurna range. In the afternoon, visit Bindabasini Temple, a sacred Hindu temple known for its ancient architecture and cultural significance.

  5. Day 5: International Mountain Museum and Departure
    15 minutes (3.5 miles) from Pokhara
    Visit the International Mountain Museum

    Visit the International Mountain Museum and learn about the history and culture of the Himalayas. End your trip with a scenic drive back to Kathmandu for your departure flight.

Recommendations

Consider taking a side trip to Chitwan National Park for a chance to see Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, and one-horned rhinoceroses.
