Five days in Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Triveni Ghat
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Rishikesh Bus Stand

    In the morning, take a spiritual dip in the holy waters of Triveni Ghat and witness the Ganga Aarti. In the afternoon, head to the Beatles Ashram, also known as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, and explore the abandoned buildings covered in street art. In the evening, visit the Lakshman Jhula, a suspension bridge across the Ganges River, and enjoy a panoramic view of Rishikesh.

  2. Day 2: Neer Garh Waterfall
    1 hour 20 minutes (6.2 km) from Triveni Ghat

    In the morning, take a refreshing dip in the Neer Garh Waterfall and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding area. In the afternoon, head to the Rajaji National Park, a tiger reserve and home to several other animals and birds. In the evening, go for a relaxing Ayurvedic massage or yoga session at one of the many wellness centers in Rishikesh.

  3. Day 3: Parmarth Niketan Ashram
    20 minutes (4.8 km) from Neer Garh Waterfall

    In the morning, attend a yoga class at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, one of the largest and oldest ashrams in Rishikesh. In the afternoon, visit the Trimbakeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the temple. In the evening, head to the Ganga Beach and enjoy a stroll along the river.

  4. Day 4: Kunjapuri Devi Temple
    1 hour 30 minutes (26.2 km) from Parmarth Niketan Ashram

    In the morning, head to the Kunjapuri Devi Temple and witness the sunrise over the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the Vashishta Gufa, a cave where the famous sage Vashishta meditated, and explore the natural beauty of the area. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many local restaurants in Rishikesh.

  5. Day 5: Swarg Ashram
    30 minutes (8.6 km) from Kunjapuri Devi Temple

    In the morning, explore the Swarg Ashram, a spiritual and yoga center situated on the banks of the Ganges River. In the afternoon, visit the Neer Bhadra Waterfall and enjoy the picturesque view of the waterfall. In the evening, go for a shopping spree at the local markets and buy some souvenirs for your loved ones.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can consider visiting the Beatles Cafe, located near the Beatles Ashram, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. You can also plan a side trip to Haridwar, a holy city located 20 km from Rishikesh, and visit the Har Ki Pauri Ghat, one of the most sacred places in India. To maximize your fun, you can try adventure sports like river rafting, bungee jumping, and zip lining. Don't forget to carry some sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable clothes and shoes.
