Four-day City Experiences Itinerary in Vietnam in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
    20 minutes (4.1 km) from Tan Son Nhat International Airport

    In the morning, visit the War Remnants Museum to learn about the history of the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, explore the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, both excellent examples of French colonial architecture.   2. Day 2: Hue
    1 hour 10 minutes (15.7 km) from Phu Bai International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the former imperial capital of Vietnam. In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Perfume River and stop at Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest and most beautiful pagodas in the country. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dinner at a local restaurant.

  3. Day 3: Hoi An
    45 minutes (30 km) from Da Nang International Airport

    In the morning, take a walking tour of the ancient town of Hoi An, another UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved architecture. In the afternoon, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, and the Museum of Trade Ceramics. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride along the Thu Bon River.

  4. Day 4: Hanoi

    In the morning, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the One Pillar Pagoda, two of the most popular attractions in the city. In the afternoon, explore the Temple of Literature, the first national university of Vietnam, and the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, also known as the "Hanoi Hilton." In the evening, attend a water puppet show, a traditional form of Vietnamese entertainment.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City, or taking a day trip to the Mekong Delta. You can also take a scenic train ride from Hue to Da Nang, known as one of the most beautiful train rides in the world.
