Transportation

Useful Tips

If you have more time, we recommend visiting other historic neighborhoods of Lisbon like Alfama, Chiado or Bairro Alto. You can also take a boat trip on the Tagus River, visit the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, or try some pasteis de nata. If you have less time, you can skip the Belém Tower and visit the Basilica da Estrela instead.

Airports

Lisbon is served by Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS), which is located about 4 miles north of the city. It's the largest airport in Portugal and one of the busiest in Europe. From the airport, you can take the metro to the city center (€1.50 for a single ticket), or a taxi (around €15-20).
