If you have extra time in Varkala, you can visit the Anjengo Fort, which is a historic fort built by the British East India Company. Another great side trip from Munnar is the Top Station, which offers stunning views of the Western Ghats. Make sure to try some of the local street food, such as puttu and kadala curry, for an authentic Kerala experience. To maximize your fun, consider hiring a bike to explore the area at your own pace. Lastly, don't forget to bring a light jacket or sweater as the weather can get chilly in the evenings.
