Two-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    20 minutes (5.5 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Morning: Start your day early and head to the Doddabetta Peak. At 2,637 meters, it is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Mountains and offers a stunning view of Ooty. You can enjoy a hot cup of tea from the tea stall there.
    Afternoon: After having lunch, visit the Government Botanical Garden. The garden is spread over 55 acres and has a collection of exotic plants and trees. The garden has a vast variety of roses and serves as a popular destination for nature lovers.
    Evening: Spend your evening at Ooty lake. The serene lake is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and offers boating rides. You can also enjoy horse riding and cycling.

  2. Day 2: Pykara Waterfall and Rose Garden
    35 minutes (20 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Morning: Head to Pykara Waterfall early morning, which is 19 km from Ooty. The water cascades down from a height of 55 meters and is a popular tourist spot. You can also enjoy a boat ride at Pykara Lake.
    Afternoon: After lunch, visit the Rose Garden, which is situated in the heart of Ooty town. The garden has more than 20,000 varieties of roses and is spread across 10 acres of land. The garden is also home to a variety of other flowers and plants.
    Evening: In the evening, you can visit the St. Stephen’s Church. The church is known for its stained glass windows and architecture. It is located in the heart of Ooty and is a peaceful place to spend your evening.
