7-Day Adventure Itinerary for Kathmandu, Prayagraj, Varanasi in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kathmandu
    10 minutes (3.1 km) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Start your day with an early morning visit to the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, and watch the sunrise over the beautiful architecture. Head to Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is perched on a hill and offers stunning views of the city.   2. Day 2: Prayagraj
    1 hour 30 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Prayagraj

    Start your day with a visit to the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Take a dip in the holy waters and offer prayers at the Allahabad Fort.   5. Day 5: Varanasi

  7. Day 7: Varanasi
    20 minutes (9.5 km) from Assi Ghat

    Start your day with a visit to the Tulsi Manas Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Rama. Head to the Alamgir Mosque, a stunning structure that was built in the 17th century. In the afternoon, take a dip in the holy waters of the River Ganges and offer prayers at the Manikarnika Ghat, one of the oldest and most revered ghats in Varanasi. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at the Manikarnika Ghat.

Recommendations:

If you have some extra time, you can visit the Chitwan National Park in Nepal, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos, and elephants. You can also take a side trip to the nearby city of Ayodhya, which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. To maximize your fun, try some of the adventure activities in Kathmandu, such as bungee jumping, paragliding, and white water rafting. You can also attend the Ganga Mahotsav, a cultural festival that celebrates the River Ganges, if you happen to be in Varanasi during the event.
