3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Kathmandu

  1. Day 1: Boudhanath Stupa
    20 minutes (4.3 km) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    In the morning, hike up to the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world. Take in the stunning views of the Kathmandu valley from the top while learning about the significance of the stupa to the local culture.   2. Day 2: Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park

    Start the day early with a trek in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. Explore the lush forests, spot diverse wildlife and take in the breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains. Afternoon, head to the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, another iconic Buddhist stupa in Kathmandu. In the evening, visit the Garden of Dreams, a serene oasis in the heart of the city, and enjoy a cup of tea while admiring the beautiful garden.

  3. Day 3: Bhaktapur and Nagarkot
    1 hour 20 minutes (25.6 km) from Thamel

    Take a day trip to Bhaktapur, an ancient city known for its well-preserved Newari architecture. Explore its narrow streets, visit the temples and learn about the history and culture of the city. Afternoon, drive to Nagarkot, a popular hill station known for its stunning sunrise and sunset views. Trek to the view tower and enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas. If you're looking for a more challenging trek, consider hiking to the Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit. You can also try rafting or kayaking in the Trishuli River or bungee jumping in the Last Resort. For a more cultural experience, visit the Patan Durbar Square or the Kathmandu Durbar Square.
