Two-Day Itinerary for Pune in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Shaniwar Wada Fort
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Pune Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Shaniwar Wada Fort, the seat of the Peshwa rulers of the Maratha Empire. The fort was built in the 18th century and is famous for its architectural grandeur. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In the evening, visit the famous Osho Ashram and participate in a meditation session.

  2. Day 2: Aga Khan Palace
    20 minutes (5.5 km) from Shaniwar Wada Fort

    In the morning, visit the Aga Khan Palace, which is a historical landmark and was built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III. It is a sprawling estate with Italian arches, spacious lawns, and a majestic staircase. In the afternoon, head to the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park and see tigers, lions, and other animals in their natural habitats. In the evening, visit the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum and explore its vast collection of Indian artifacts.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can also visit the historical landmark of Sinhagad Fort, which is located around 30 km away from Pune. The fort was built 2000 years ago and has a rich history.
