5-Day Itinerary for Sikkim in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Gangtok
    33 minutes (16.1 km) from Pakyong Airport

    Start your trip with a visit to the Enchey Monastery, which is a major attraction in Gangtok. Located on a hilltop, the monastery offers a stunning view of the city. After that, head to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which is a museum and research center dedicated to Tibetan culture and history. In the evening, stroll along the MG Marg, which is a popular shopping and dining area.

  2. Day 2: Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass
    42 minutes (24.4 km) from Gangtok

    Today, visit the Tsomgo Lake, which is a glacial lake located at an altitude of 12,310 feet. The lake offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. After that, head to the Nathula Pass, which is a mountain pass on the Indo-China border. The pass offers a stunning view of the Himalayas. Note: Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  3. Day 3: Pelling
    3 hours 38 minutes (116 km) from Gangtok

    Today, explore the beautiful town of Pelling. Start your day with a visit to the Pemayangtse Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. After that, head to the Khecheopalri Lake, which is considered sacred by both Buddhists and Hindus. In the evening, visit the Rabdentse Ruins, which was the second capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim.

  4. Day 4: Yuksom
    1 hour 6 minutes (35.7 km) from Pelling

    Today, visit the historic town of Yuksom. Start your day with a visit to the Dubdi Monastery, which is the oldest monastery in Sikkim. After that, head to the Norbugang Park, which is a beautiful garden and picnic spot. In the evening, visit the Tashiding Monastery, which is one of the most sacred monasteries in Sikkim.

  5. Day 5: Ravangla
    2 hours 34 minutes (73.4 km) from Yuksom

    Today, visit the town of Ravangla. Start your day with a visit to the Buddha Park, which is a beautiful park with a giant statue of Buddha. After that, head to the Ralong Monastery, which is a major attraction in Ravangla. In the evening, visit the Temi Tea Garden, which is the only tea garden in Sikkim.
