Three-Day Itinerary for Gokarna in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahabaleshwara Temple

    In the morning, visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Gokarna. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its unique Dravidian and Konkani architecture. In the afternoon, head to Kudle Beach, a beautiful stretch of golden sand, and enjoy a relaxing swim or sunbathe.   2. Day 2: Om Beach and Half Moon Beach
    30 minutes (7.9 km) from Mahabaleshwara Temple

    Spend the morning exploring Om Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Gokarna. Walk along the coastline, or take a boat ride to nearby Half Moon Beach, a secluded, crescent-shaped beach with clear blue waters. In the afternoon, visit the Maha Ganapati Temple, a beautifully carved temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In the evening, head to the Namaste Cafe, a popular hangout spot, and enjoy some mouth-watering seafood while watching the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Paradise Beach and Mirjan Fort
    45 minutes (20 km) from Om Beach

    Start the day by taking a ferry or a short hike to Paradise Beach, a secluded beach known for its pristine blue waters and untouched beauty. Spend the morning enjoying the tranquility of the beach and soaking up the sun. In the afternoon, visit the Mirjan Fort, a 16th-century fort located in the village of Mirjan. Explore the well-preserved fort and learn about its rich history. In the evening, head back to Gokarna and take a relaxing stroll along the Gokarna Beach.
