2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Waynad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves

  2. Day 2: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
    25 minutes (9.5 miles) from Kalpetta

    Morning: Explore the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. Take a jeep safari to spot elephants, tigers, leopards, and other wildlife. Learn about the conservation efforts being made to protect the sanctuary’s natural resources.
    Afternoon: Visit the Soochipara Waterfalls. Take a dip in the cool waters or go trekking in the nearby hills. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the lush greenery.

Recommendations

If you have time, make sure to visit the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. Take a trek to the top and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding valleys. You can also visit the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple that dates back to the 9th century. Another great side trip is to the Kuruva Island, a beautiful island located in the middle of the Kabini River.
