6-Day Adventurous Trip to Kedarnath

  1. Day 1: Arrival at Kedarnath
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Kedarnath Helipad

    Upon arrival, head to your hotel to freshen up. Start your trip with a trek to Kedarnath Temple, located at a height of 3,583 meters. Enjoy the scenic views of snow-capped mountains and valleys. In the afternoon, visit Bhairavnath Temple, a 2 km trek from Kedarnath Temple. In the evening, head to the Shankaracharya Samadhi, a serene and spiritual place to meditate.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal Lake Trek
    1 hour 45 minutes (8.5 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Embark on an exciting trek to Vasuki Tal Lake, a beautiful high altitude lake nestled amidst the Himalayas. The trek is challenging but worth it as you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Spend the night camping by the lake and enjoy a bonfire with fellow trekkers.

  3. Day 3: Chorabari Tal Trek
    1 hour (3.3 km) from Vasuki Tal Lake

    After breakfast, start your trek to Chorabari Tal, also known as Gandhi Sarovar. The trek is moderate and takes you through picturesque meadows, gushing streams, and dense forests. Take a dip in the lake's crystal clear waters and enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch by the lake. In the evening, head back to your hotel in Kedarnath.

  4. Day 4: Gaurikund and Kedartal Trek
    1 hour 30 minutes (36.8 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Head to Gaurikund, the starting point of the Kedartal Trek. The trek is challenging and takes you through rugged terrains, majestic waterfalls, and high altitude meadows. The Kedartal Lake is a sight to behold, nestled amidst snow-capped peaks. Spend the night camping by the lake and enjoy stargazing.

  5. Day 5: Madmaheshwar Trek
    2 hours 30 minutes (40.2 km) from Kedartal Lake

    Start your trek to Madmaheshwar, one of the Panch Kedar. The trek is moderate and takes you through dense forests and beautiful meadows. The Madmaheshwar Temple is an ancient temple with a unique architecture and is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva appeared in the form of a belly. Spend some time exploring the temple and head back to your hotel in Kedarnath.

  6. Day 6: Departure from Kedarnath
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Kedarnath Helipad

    Check out from your hotel and head to Kedarnath Helipad for your departure.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, a beautiful temple with a fascinating history and legend. If you are interested in rafting, head to the nearby town of Rudraprayag. You can also take a helicopter ride to get a bird's eye view of the beautiful Himalayas. Make sure to try the local cuisine, especially the famous Garhwal ka Fannah and Bal Mithai.
