2-Day Hyderabad Itinerary for City Experiences in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    12 minutes (4.5 km) from Hyderabad City Centre

    Charminar is a historic monument and mosque located in the heart of Hyderabad. It was built in 1591 and is a symbol of the city's rich history and culture. In the morning, you can explore the market surrounding Charminar and try some local breakfast options such as Irani chai and Osmania biscuits. After that, you can climb the stairs of Charminar and enjoy the stunning view of the city from the top. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Chowmahalla Palace, which was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad. In the evening, head to Laad Bazaar, which is famous for its bangles and other jewellery items.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort
    25 minutes (10.3 km) from Hyderabad City Centre

    Golconda Fort is a magnificent fortress located on a hilltop in Hyderabad. It was built in the 16th century and is known for its impressive architecture and engineering. In the morning, you can explore the fort and learn about its history at the Golconda Fort Museum. You can also visit the nearby Qutub Shahi Tombs, which are the final resting place of the ruling dynasty of Hyderabad. In the afternoon, head to Salar Jung Museum, which has a vast collection of art, artefacts and antiques from all over the world. In the evening, visit the Hussain Sagar Lake and take a boat ride to see the giant statue of Buddha that is located in the middle of the lake.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Ramoji Film City, which is the world's largest film studio complex. You can also take a trip to the nearby city of Warangal, which has several ancient temples and forts. To maximize your fun, try some of the local street food such as Hyderabadi biryani, Mirchi ka Salan and Double ka Meetha. You can also attend a cultural event such as a qawwali performance or a classical dance recital. Lastly, don't forget to shop for some local handicrafts such as Nirmal paintings and Pochampally sarees.
