2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Pune in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Trek to Sinhagad Fort
30 minutes (11.8 km) from Pune City Center

In the morning, embark on an exhilarating trek to Sinhagad Fort. Located on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Sahyadri range, this fort has been witness to many battles and is steeped in Maratha history. The trek is challenging, but the stunning vistas make it worth it. After a packed lunch, head over to Panshet Dam for a thrilling session of water sports. Try your hand at kayaking, jet-skiing, or even flyboarding for a real adrenaline rush. In the evening, relax at the resort and enjoy a bonfire under the stars.

  2. Day 2: Paragliding at Kamshet
1 hour 15 minutes (50 km) from Resort

Get ready for a day filled with adventure as you head over to Kamshet, a popular destination for paragliding. After a quick training session, soar through the skies and experience the thrill of flying like a bird. You can opt for a tandem flight or go solo if you're feeling brave. After a morning of paragliding, take a break for lunch at one of the local eateries. In the afternoon, go on a scenic drive to Lonavala and visit the Karla and Bhaja Caves. These ancient rock-cut cave temples are a testament to the Buddhist culture and architecture of the region. Return to Pune in the evening, tired but happy from an action-packed two days.

Recommendations

For a more laid-back experience, you can visit the Aga Khan Palace and learn about its historical significance in the Indian independence movement. You can also go on a heritage walk in the old city and explore the many temples and markets that dot the area. If you have more time, consider a day trip to the hill stations of Mahabaleshwar or Matheran for a refreshing change of scenery. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. It's also a good idea to carry a water bottle and some energy bars for the treks. Finally, don't forget to sample the local cuisine, which is a delicious mix of Marathi and Maharashtrian flavors.
