4-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Botanical Gardens

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak and Government Museum

    Wake up early and head to Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in Nilgiris. The breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys are worth the early morning wake-up call. Next, head to the Government Museum, situated in the heart of the town. The museum houses artefacts from Tamil Nadu's history, including sculptures, paintings, and coins. In the evening, take a stroll around the Ooty Lake, an artificial lake constructed in the 19th century.

  3. Day 3: St. Stephen's Church and Pykara Lake

    Start your day by visiting St. Stephen's Church, a beautiful Anglican church constructed in the 19th century. The stained-glass windows and wooden carvings inside the church are a sight to behold. Next, head to the Pykara Lake, a serene lake surrounded by lush greenery.   4. Day 4: Avalanche Lake and Emerald Lake

If you have more time, consider visiting the Mudumalai National Park, a wildlife sanctuary situated around 60 km from Ooty.
