Family Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Coorg in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp
    30 minutes (16.5 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day in Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can observe elephants bathing and feeding. You can even participate in an elephant interaction program where you can learn how to bathe and feed them. After lunch, head to Abbey falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by coffee plantations. Take a short walk to reach the falls and enjoy the scenic view. End your day with a visit to Raja's Seat, a popular sunset viewpoint with a garden and musical fountain.

  2. Day 2: Talacauvery and Bhagamandala
    1 hour 15 minutes (43.5 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day with a visit to Talacauvery, the birthplace of river Cauvery. Take a dip in the holy pond and visit the nearby temple. Then, head to Bhagamandala, a beautiful temple complex where river Cauvery meets the Kannika and Sujyoti rivers. You can take a dip in the river and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding hills. After lunch, visit the Madikeri fort, a historical fort with a museum, temple and a prison. End your day with a visit to the Omkareshwara temple, a beautiful temple with a blend of Islamic and Gothic architecture.

  3. Day 3: Nagarhole National Park and Iruppu Falls
    2 hours 45 minutes (106 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day with a visit to Nagarhole National Park, one of the best wildlife reserves in South India. Take a safari ride and spot elephants, tigers, leopards and other wildlife. After lunch, head to Iruppu falls, a beautiful waterfall located in the Brahmagiri mountains. Take a dip in the falls and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding forest. End your day with a visit to the Namdroling Monastery, a beautiful Buddhist monastery with giant golden statues and colorful murals.

If you have time, consider visiting the Chiklihole Reservoir, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and coffee plantations. You can also visit the Nisargadhama forest park, a beautiful island surrounded by river Cauvery.
