Pike Place Market is a historic market located in the heart of Downtown Seattle. It’s known for its fresh fish, local produce, unique shops and small businesses, and various eateries. You'll find the original Starbucks store and the famous Gum Wall here. Spend a few hours meandering through the market, trying new foods, and checking out the local artisanal goods.
A trip to Seattle would be incomplete without visiting the second-tallest building in the city, the Space Needle. It gives an incredible panoramic view of the city below, and you are able to see far into the distance. There are different observation decks to access, and the revolving glass floor in the restaurant adds an extraordinary dimension to dining. Don't forget to snap a couple of photos!
The Chihuly Garden and Glass is a museum located in the shadow of the Space Needle. The museum showcases some of Dale Chihuly's magnificent blown-glass art installations as well as the garden's stunning glass flowers and other colorful plants. The museum also has a café and shop where you can pick up souvenirs.
The Seattle Waterfront is located near the famous Downtown Seattle, is a bustling hub with lots of things to see and do. There is an Aquarium, the Olympic Sculpture Park, the Great Wheel, and many waterfront restaurants to indulge in Pacific Northwest seafood. There is a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island if time permits.
Seattle has a well-run public transit system, including buses, light rail, and water taxis. Most tourist locations are also accessible by walking. Downloading a public transit app would be useful for navigating the city. On average, the cost of light rail and bus fare is $2.75 per journey, and an ORCA card needs to be used to purchase transportation. Seattle's location at the base of the Puget Sound makes access to the Olympic National Park or a day trip to Victoria, BC incredibly easy.
