Adventure-packed 3-day Budapest Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Buda Castle Hill
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Budapest City Center

    In the morning, hike up to Buda Castle Hill, one of the most beautiful places in Budapest. Explore the stunning Baroque style Buda Castle and its museums, then have a delicious Hungarian lunch at the nearby Kiosk Restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Fisherman's Bastion and take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Explore the Matthias Church, one of the oldest churches in Hungary. In the evening, take a relaxing stroll in the Castle Garden Bazaar and enjoy a drink at the Faust Wine Cellar.

  2. Day 2: Pál-völgyi Cave and Margaret Island
    30 minutes (10 km) from Buda Castle Hill

    Begin your adventure in the morning by exploring the underground Pál-völgyi Cave, one of the longest and most beautiful caves in Hungary. Enjoy the unique rock formations and natural beauty of the cave. After lunch, take a short drive to Margaret Island, a green oasis in the middle of the Danube River. Rent a bike and explore the island's beautiful gardens, fountains, and ruins. Take a dip in one of the island's thermal baths or pools. In the evening, watch the musical fountain show and enjoy a romantic dinner at Holdudvar Restaurant.

  3. Day 3: Danube River Cruise and Gellért Hill
    20 minutes (6 km) from Margaret Island

    Start your day with a scenic Danube River Cruise and take in the beauty of Budapest's historical buildings and landmarks. After lunch, head to Gellért Hill, one of the best spots to see the panoramic view of the city. Visit the Liberty Statue, a symbol of Hungary's freedom, and take a dip in the Gellért Baths, one of the most beautiful thermal baths in Budapest. In the evening, enjoy a folklore show and traditional Hungarian dinner at the Mátyás Pince Restaurant.
