3-Day Itinerary for Udaipur in July 2023

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    15 minutes (3.5 kilometers) from Udaipur Airport

    Morning: Start off your trip by exploring the City Palace, a stunning complex of palaces, courtyards and gardens. The palace is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles and offers breathtaking views of Lake Pichola. Be sure to check out the crystal gallery, which houses a unique collection of crystal objects, including a crystal bed.
    Afternoon: Head to the Jagdish Temple, located just a few minutes' walk from the City Palace. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. Take some time to admire the architecture and soak in the spiritual atmosphere.
    Evening: End the day with a relaxing boat ride on Lake Pichola. Admire the stunning scenery as you sail past palaces, temples and havelis. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the famous Lake Palace Hotel.

  2. Day 2: Saheliyon-ki-Bari & Fateh Sagar Lake
    20 minutes (6.4 kilometers) from City Palace

    Morning: Visit Saheliyon-ki-Bari, a beautiful garden that was built for the queen's maidservants. The garden features fountains, lotus pools, marble elephants and other interesting sculptures. It's a great place to relax and take in the natural beauty of Udaipur.
    Afternoon: Head to Fateh Sagar Lake, one of the most popular lakes in Udaipur. You can take a boat ride to explore the lake and visit Nehru Park, which is located on an island in the middle of the lake. The park offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills.
    Evening: Enjoy a sunset view from the Monsoon Palace, which is located on a hill overlooking Udaipur. The palace was built in the 19th century and offers panoramic views of the city. It's a great spot to watch the sunset and take some memorable photos.

  3. Day 3: Kumbhalgarh Fort & Ranakpur Jain Temple
    2 hours 20 minutes (84 kilometers) from Udaipur

    Morning: Take a day trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is located about 2 hours from Udaipur. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its impressive walls, which stretch for 36 kilometers and are the second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China.
    Afternoon: Visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple, which is located near Kumbhalgarh Fort. The temple is one of the most famous Jain temples in India and is known for its intricate architecture and stunning marble carvings. Take some time to explore the temple and learn about Jainism.
    Evening: Return to Udaipur and end your trip with a delicious Rajasthani dinner at one of the city's many restaurants. Be sure to try some local specialties like dal-bati-churma, gatte ki sabzi and laal maas.
