2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Varanasi in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Assi Ghat

    Morning: Start your day by witnessing the breathtaking sunrise at Assi Ghat, the southernmost ghat in Varanasi. Evening: Spend some time at the Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, a spectacular ceremony where priests offer prayers to the River Ganges with fire lamps and flowers.

  2. Day 2: Banaras Hindu University
    30 minutes (5.4 km) from Dashashwamedh Ghat

    Morning: Visit the Banaras Hindu University, one of the oldest and prestigious universities in India. The campus tour includes the Bharat Kala Bhavan Museum, which showcases a stunning collection of Indian paintings, sculptures, and textiles. Afternoon: Head to the Ramnagar Fort, an 18th-century fort-palace situated on the eastern bank of the Ganges. The fort museum displays vintage cars, armors, and weapons used by the Kings of Varanasi. Evening: Spend your evening at the Manikarnika Ghat, one of the most sacred ghats in Varanasi, and witness the ancient Hindu practice of cremation.
